A nice mountain village, in the province of Alicante, Valencia region.

From Casa Vista al Mar you can drive in just under an hour to this cute and cozy village with beautiful views, nice shops and cultural sights.

This time we visited the Orduña manor, the castle with the gardens and the parish church. There are also two museums you can visit. What appeals to us is the attention that the municipality and its residents pay to the decoration of the village.
In the summer the village is decorated with flags and has a cheerfully colored appearance. This time we were there during the Christmas period and the flags had made way for cozy lights. There was also a beautiful nativity scene.
The village is located on a mountain and visiting it means walking many stairs. There are also cozy restaurants and terraces where you can enjoy a drink and/or a snack.
Guadalest is on the list of the  most beautiful villages in Spain;
"Los Pueblos mas bonitos de España". In 1974 the medieval village was declared;
"Historic Artistic Heritage" This beautiful village attracts many visitors every year. If you're not a fan of the crowds, start your day early. The first buses with tourists arrive around 10:30 am.
The villages in the immediate area are also worth a visit. On the way back we had a drink in Beniardà at restaurant Ca Gloria with super friendly service.
Beniardà is a nice village on the reservoir and also worth a visit.
